Wild Rift Horizon Cup 2021 Will Feature a $500,000 USD Prize Pool


More details regarding the League of Legends: Wild Rift Horizon Cup 2021 have been revealed. The tournament will feature a prize pool of $500,000 USD. It will be the first-ever global esports event for Wild Rift. Ten of the best teams from around the world will be competing in the Wild Rift Horizon Cup 2021 which will kick off on 3rd November as an offline esports event. With support from the Singapore Tourism Board, the event will be held at a popular location in Singapore. The Wild Rift Horizon Cup 2021 will serve as a warm-up pre-season event before the official launch for the first season of the Wild Rift esports scene next year.

Wild Rift’s first international tournament revealed

As a sort of warm-up event before the upcoming world championship, the Wild Rift Horizon Cup 2021 features the teams who will also be participating in the upcoming Wild Rift World Championship 2021.

Regional qualifiers for some regions are still ongoing with five teams already revealed to participate in the international event. To make things even more interesting, the Wild Rift Horizon Cup 2021 will also be held offline in Suntec Singapore Convention and Exhibition Centre.

The Future of Wild Rift Esports

Leo Faria, the global head of Wild Rift esports, revealed that this is only the preseason for the esports scene of Riot Games’ mobile MOBA title. The first official season of Wild Rift’s competitive scene will kick off next year, leading to a world championship.

“We’re working hard for Season One kick-off and I cannot wait to share more details with you later this year,” stated Faria.

It will be interesting to hear what Riot Games has planned with regards to Wild Rift’s esports scene and what more is on the horizon for the mobile MOBA title.
