MPL PH Season 8 Week 5 Recap: The Bren Esports Resurgence Continues

The Mobile Legends Professional League (MPL) Philippines (PH) Season 8 Week 5 has concluded. As usual, the defending champions, Blacklist International sits comfortably at the top ranks with no losses. Meanwhile, Bren Esports is starting to gain momentum with two wins for MPL PH Season 8 Week 5. Omega Esports and ONIC PH encountered a visual bug that ruined the match’s flow, causing a two-hour delay before the match could continue. Nexplay EVOS had a very rough fifth week with no wins at their table. Here is a quick recap of the matches during the MPL PH Season 8 Week 4.

MPL PH Season 8 – Week 5 Day 1

ONIC PH vs Omega Esports (2-1)

Both teams delivered an intense match that resulted in a 1-1 score which opened up a deciding third match. However, due to an unexpected visual bug, the . It took more than two hours to finally resolve the issue and start the third match which was won by ONIC PH.

Nexplay EVOS vs Bren Esports (1-2)

A fated rematch between the two teams emerged with Bren Esports dominated. Nexplay EVOS did manage to win one of the rounds but Bren Esports came back stronger in the third match, allowing the world champions to score two wins against Nexplay EVOS.

MPL PH Season 8 – Week 5 Day 2

Blacklist International vs TNC Pro Team (2-0)

The defending champions continue to keep their undefeated record in the MPL PH Season 8 against TNC Pro Team. TNC Pro Team showed impressive countermeasures for Blacklist International but the execution was not good enough to take down the defending champions. The match ended with a clean sweep victory of 2-0 for Blacklist International against TNC Pro Team.

RSG PH vs ECHO (2-1)

Fans witnessed an intense battle between the new contenders of the MPL PH Season 8. ECHO’s Frederic “Bennyqt” Gonzales tried to contest RSG PH’s John Cedrix “Demonkite” Caranto. However, Bennyqt failed to carry his team despite being on par with Demonkite in terms of trading. The match ended with RSG PH securing a win against ECHO with a score of 2-1, in favor of RSG PH.

Bren Esports vs ONIC PH (2-0)

The defending champions continue to keep their momentum going with another victory against ONIC PH. Bren Esports’ star player Karl “Karltzy” Nepomuceno showed off his marksman skills with the hero Natan in the first match followed by Paquito in the second match. The match ended with Bren Esports securing a clean sweep victory score of 2-0 against ONIC PH.

MPL PH Season 8 – Week 5 Day 3

ECHO vs TNC Pro Team (2-1)

TNC Pro Team had a rough starting match with Patrick “P-GOD” Grecia and Adrian “Toshi” Bacallo falling behind in gold income. However, P-GOD redeemed himself in the second match with his Nana scoring alongside Shemaiah “Chuuu” Chu’s Yi Sun-Shin. Unfortunately, TNC made a big mistake of risking everything just to steal a lord which cost them the match. ECHO wins the match with a score of 2-1 against TNC Pro Team.

Blacklist International vs RSG PH (2-0)

At this point, everyone was baffled by how Blacklist International was able keep its undefeated title against the toughest competitions in the MPL PH Season 8. RSG PH’s mix of defensive and aggressive strategy didn’t flinch Blacklist International as it continued to march down and take down turrets with Kiel “Oheb” Soriano and Danerie “Wise” Rosario leading the charge. The match ended with a clean sweep victory score of 2-0 on Blacklist International against RSG PH.

ONIC PH vs Nexplay EVOS (2-0)

ONIC PH recovered from its loss against Bren Esports after taking down Nexplay EVOS in the final match of MPL PH Season 8 Week 5. Nexplay EVOS’ Jhonwin “Hesa” Vergara tried his best to keep his team from falling behind but ONIC PH’s synchronized rotations proved too much for Nexplay. The match ended with ONIC PH securing a clean sweep victory score of 2-0 against Nexplay EVOS.
