Galaxy buds 2 vs Galaxy buds live It’s fair to begin comparing Samsung’s more recent (and more expensive) Buds Live earphones to its newer completely wireless Galaxy Buds 2 headphones. And how would you be able to? They at least appear to have identical cases at first glance.

Design
The actual earbuds inside those two pairs of headphones are significantly different in design, despite the fact that their cases are almost identical in size and shape. Due to their distinctive bean shape, which nonetheless gives them a distinctive, sleek, and perhaps even elegant appearance, the Galaxy Buds Live are sometimes ironically referred to as “the beans.”
On the other hand, the Buds 2 earbuds have a more conventional shape with well-known rubber eartips that, in principle, are more likely to perfectly fit a bigger number of users’ ears. While I personally adored “the beans” because they were the perfect fit for me, you should be aware that there is a slight chance they won’t be as snug in your ear canal. The Buds 2 would therefore be a safer choice in this situation.
The Buds 2 and Buds Live both have slick curves, glossy plastic on the exterior, and matte plastic inside, and they both look fantastic. Similar to a wedding ring case, both of their cases open. Both situations are perfectly acceptable.
The appearance of the cases has changed slightly. The Galaxy Buds 2 is all-white on the outside, with different color options for the case’s internal components and the earbuds themselves. The Galaxy Buds Live, on the other hand, come in three different colors, with the entire case and earbuds having the same color scheme. Aside from that, the appearance of the cases of both earbuds is identical.
Fit and comfort
This is the most significant distinction between the two earbuds. The Galaxy Buds 2 have an in-ear design that fits snugly into the ear cavity for a complete seal. The Galaxy Buds Live have a different bean-shaped design that does not go as far inside the ear as the Galaxy Buds 2. It’s more of a half-in-ear design, with small rubber tips on each bud.
It is entirely up to personal preference whether you prefer the Galaxy Buds 2’s in-ear design or having earbuds rest on your ear instead of completely going inside the canal and creating a seal. Based on this, you can determine which earbuds are best for you. If you want complete isolation from outside noise, we recommend getting the Galaxy Buds 2, and this is true even if you work out or engage in strenuous physical activities.
Sound quality and ANC
The Galaxy Buds 2 outperform the Galaxy Buds Live in this category, owing to the way they’re built. While both sets of earbuds include ANC, the in-ear design of the Galaxy Buds 2 provides superior sound isolation, which results in a better listening experience. The Galaxy Buds 2 are also louder and far more effective at filtering out extraneous noises, particularly while commuting or flying.
The Galaxy Buds Live sound fantastic as well, however owing to the form of these earbuds, you can easily hear external sounds even with ANC switched on. These are less effective in canceling out engine noise when flying in a plane. The earbuds’ bass response is also lacking, and the overall sound quality is inferior to that of the Galaxy Buds 2.
If you want the highest audio quality, go with the Galaxy Buds 2. In fact, the Galaxy Buds 2 sound nearly as excellent as the Galaxy Buds 2, which are now among the finest TWS earbuds available.

The Galaxy Buds 2 and Galaxy Buds Live, like most TWS earbuds, contain touch controls on the earphones that may be used to perform a variety of functions. This covers things like playing/paused music, skipping to the next/previous track, using the voice assistant, and so on. The Samsung Wearable app also allows you to customize both earphones and manage the ANC/transparency settings on both earbuds.
The Galaxy Buds Live include in-ear sensing, so when you remove them from your ears, the music stops and resumes when you put them back on. The Galaxy Buds 2 do not have this function. If you’re planning to pair the earphones with a Samsung phone, you can also utilize the fast-pair option to connect to the earbuds easily.
The Galaxy Buds 2 have a battery life of up to five hours on a single charge, while the Galaxy Buds Live have a slightly greater battery life of six hours with ANC active on both. In practice, both earbuds should provide a comparable battery experience. When you consider the casing, both earphones last 20 hours on a single charge. The battery life on both earbuds is adequate, in our opinion.
