Our recommendation on choosing the best laptop with graphics card for Rs 40,000:

Rs 40,000 can get you a laptop that can handle your moderate gaming needs, implying, you would be able to play older games comfortably but might struggle with latest ones, unless played at the lowest settings. And the culprit is the GPU instead of RAM or the CPU.

If you can get a laptop with 150MX get it. Period. Otherwise, MX130, Vega 8/540, and the M445 are the best cards under Rs 40,000 that can offer a decent gaming experience, while the M530, M430, and the likes offer entry-level gaming performance. Also, with software optimizations, it seems like the Vega 8 is finally performing better in more recent games compared to the 3-year-old 940MX.

All of these graphics cards should be adequate for architecture and design students.

On the processor front, 8th generation Core i5 is the best you’ll find in this range. Ryzen 2500U is on par with the 8250U. If you’re looking for a Core i3, make sure it’s at least 7th gen if not 8th. Oh, and an eighth-gen i3 is on par with a 7th gen Core i5.

That doesn’t mean that these laptops aren’t any good for office or other needs and these are the most powerful laptops available under Rs 40,000. They’re as good for college students and working professionals. As such people not looking for gaming can pick the best laptop under Rs 40,000 based on their needs (8GB RAM for multitaskers, Windows 10/DOS, Core i5 for video editing, etc.).
